Randy Barrington

My name is Randy Barrington, I have over 30 years of experience as a certified shotgun instructor, coach and competitor. I am a Master Class Sporting Clay competitor, a National Sporting Clay Assn. Level III instructor and have made 26 National All American Sporting Clay Teams.

I am currently the President of Capital City Clay’s Board of Directors I have experience coaching all levels of skeet, trap and sporting clay shooters, with an emphasis on shooting mechanics and the mental approach for competition success. I specialize in coaching youth and beginning shooters for clay targets and live bird shooters, concentrating on basic shooting fundamentals, safety, and gun fit.

From youth and beginning shooters just starting to advanced competitive shooter, I have the knowledge and ability to improve your shooting.

Renee Blaine

Renee Blaine

My name is Renee Blaine, and I am a NRA Certified shotgun instructor, pistol instructor and range safety officer. I am the founder of Austin Hotshots, a firearms shooting academy specializing in shotgun sports, wing shooting and handgun proficiency since 2009. Classes with Austin Hotshots include an intro to shotguns, intermediate shotgun, intro to pistols and intermediate/defensive pistols. Texas License To Carry classes available as well.

We make sure every student possesses the necessary skills to safely and proficiently handle a firearm through our course curriculum. We strive to encourage a competitive or sportsmanship interest in all students, in order to keep shooting skills sharp. Instruction is carefully tailored to the skill level of the student. Group and individual lessons are available, and out of town groups are encouraged as well. Plus, there is no need to own your own firearm for your lesson with me – shotgun rental is available through Austin Hotshot!

Joe Klein

My name is Joe Klein, and I am a Certified NSCA Level 1 Sporting Clay instructor with 15 years of experience competing at Sporting Clays. I currently compete at the Master Class level in sporting clays.
I provide lessons and coaching for Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays. My goal for my student lessons is to provide the knowledge and techniques to break clay pigeons no matter which discipline they desire to shoot.

My name is Will Van Dusen, and I am an NSCA certified instructor interested in helping you reach your goals in shotgun sports. I have 16 years of experience in the clay target disciplines and have been a part of championship winning teams at the state, national, and international levels. I’ve been awarded status as an All-American for sporting clays and collegiate shooting multiple times. 

My expertise is in sporting clays, trap, and skeet. I am equipped to teach you both fundamental and advanced shooting concepts in all clay target disciplines. I have experience coaching shooters of all ages, and can help you build a lesson plan based around your goals.
